Cheap 4711 at TJ Maxx

I was in a TJ Maxx earlier today and noticed that they are selling 300ml bottles of 4711 cologne for about $15 - a bit less that half price. They had quite a stack.

I read somewhere that 4711 is being discontinued. Anyone know better?

I would tend to doubt they would discontinue a product like this. They have a pretty big website and there's obviously been some major effort to continue marketing the product, but who knows? I also heard they are discontinuing Chanel Pour Monsieur.

4711 is a german cologne with a blue/turquese box that has gold engraving, right ?

if it is, its dirt cheap here and even sold in 400ml bottles,

A little word of warning to my fellow B&Bers... if you plan on purchasing from TJ Maxx, I would recommend that you deal with them on strictly a Cash-Only basis. Both my wife and I have had to have our debit cards renewed, not once, but twice because the information on TJ Maxx's computers was compromised. I wouldn't even recommend using a check. Just a head's up.

Yes, the original cologne of Cologne (Koln), Germany. I picked up a couple of tiny bottles, when I was in Cologne. I asked if it was male or female. They told me they didn't distinguish, back in the day. (Take that, CK One!) My girls thought it smelled like Lemon Pledge.
