Polarizing Lens

Any brands that I should avoid? Anything that you would recommend?

I am a firm believer in the adage "You get what you pay for" so I'm not necessarily interested in the cheapest. On the other hand, I don't want to pay just for a brand name. I also don't want it to be the "weak link" and detract from the lens quality.

Shooting Sony a7 with the Zeiss lens, 70-200.

Not sure if it's the quality you need or not but I have a Hoya 52mm PL-CIR filter you can have if it's the right size thread.

Reserch the hoya HD range. For digital I now prefer those to B+W. Not cheap, but very tough.

If you are using polarizer with wide angle, be sure to watch out for vignetting. For instance, on 20-40mm lens with full frame 35mm sized dslr's. At the widest extreme, do not use polarizer at wider than 17mm, since it will not polarize evenly.
For landscapes, I often end up using combination of polarizer with ND grads, in Lee-type holder.

Thanks gents. I need 72mm.

David, the Hoya HD looks like it would do the trick. Thanks.

Yep. That's what I get for posting when I'm tired. Looks like everybody knew what I meant, though!
