Default Any Heavy Metal fans out there??

As my username would suggest, I'm something of an Iron Maiden fan. I'm planning on going to their Somewhere Back In Time tour this summer, and I began to think....I wonder if any of the B&B members enjoy heavy metal music as well?

So, are there any metal-heads or thrashers out there?

I like the occasional Metal/Trash/Speed/Death/Prog songs as much as the next guy. In fact I was listening to Dragonforce in the car a few minutes ago.

Iron Maiden for sure. I quite like them.
    Mettalica rules offcourse.
Some bands that I listen to I don't know if they class as Metal or some other genre (Like System of a Down/Fear Factory/Queens of the Stone Age etc) but I do like some music to blow my wife's ears of every now and then. But she doesn't seem to mind so it's all good.

I have a few bands in the playlist that keep my mind clear while driving. Metallica, Iron Maiden, J-Priest, Blind Guardian, Dream Theater. My ipod is quite the conglomerate of genre's; Metal, Prog, Hard Rock, Country Rock, Smooth Jazz, Trad. Jazz, Fusion, etc.

I like Metal but it's a mood thing with me. Not when I'm behind the wheel though, it seems to bring out tickets...

I'm going to try to get out to see Maiden again this year.

I was a teenager in the 80's, so yea, I loved metal. AC/DC, Sabbath, Ozzy, Priest, Scorpions, Maiden, then Quiet Riot, Crue, Ratt, then Metallica, Slayer, Metal Church, Anthrax, etc.. I never embraced the later hair bands like Winger and Poison.. too much hairspray. I got into alternative rock and punk after that, but I still spun my old metal albums. Then grunge came around, which was kind of metal, but not really. I still love old Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. After that, I got into stuff like Helmet, Melvins and some stoner metal like Monster Magnet, Kyuss, Fu Manchu and Clutch.. but then I also was into some death metal bands like Entombed, Acid Bath, Buzzoven, etc.. then a whole other generation of metal bands emerged, combinding all kinds of different styles from Operatic to Progressive to Hardcore.. Opeth, Meshuggah, Cave In, Converge, High On Fire, In Flames, Botch, Queens of the Stone Age, Mastodon..

I guess you could say I'm a fan of metal bands with a twist, so to speak. But I still love rocking out to my old Maiden and Priest albums!

Personally, I can't stand Metallica, but I do enjoy AC/DC and some of their ilk. I'm a big fan of the movie "Heavy Metal" does that count?

Yea, my first concert was Iron Maiden too.. Somewhere on Tour.. 1987.

I can say that I've been to "better" concerts, but I've never as much fun at a concert as I did that first Maiden show.

But yea, that concert you saw. Priest/Maiden in 1982.. what could be better?

Sure! Actually, I'm what happened to those 80's headbangers who were so unfortunate as to lose a couple feet of hair and get old.

I saw Iron Maiden 3 times back then, and nothing will ever top seeing the Powerslave concert from row 4! GEEEZ that was a concert!
It takes one to be one.

I saw this thread and thought we were talking about the movie and/or magazine. The movie is still a fav of mine and the soundtrack is fantastic.

I'm more of that outlandish Scandinavian metallic ilk:

Agalloch, Drudkh, Opeth, Borknagar, Ulver, Woods of Ypres

    and then more straightforward:

Lamb of God, Chimeira, Ministry, Sepultura, Slayer, Soulfly
