Merkur Slant vs Hoffritz

Hey everybody-

I'm looking to get a slant razor since it might help my situation (sensitive skin/tough beard). I generally would prefer an old razor to new ones, so I'm thinking of the Hoffritz. However, I also want to get a gold razor since I don't have anything gold yet. Any opinions on which way I should go? I saw in an old thread that Hoffritz made gold slants, but I haven't seen one for sale anywhere.

Does anybody have a gold slant that they'd like to sell? Has anybody actually seen a gold Hoffritz? How do the Merkur and Hoffritz compare?

The Hoffritz was made by Merkur. The only difference being the name stamped on the handle. They did make a gold model. No difference in shave quality. I am pretty sure Lee's Safety Razors carries the gold Merkur Slant. Jim at Vintage Blades might also.

The Merkur Gold Slant is a 37G

I have a gold Merkur slant I bought from Lee's razors. It is a great shaver, just make sure you combine it with a Feather blade.
