I'm going to pick some up for a gift but would like your advice on which. I have the Green in the tub and love it. Face and bowl lathered with it. But I have never tried the cream in the tube. What are the differences and which would you recommend for mainly face lathering?

They are EXACTLY the same product in different consistency, hence the choice is only up to you. Personally I prefer the soft shaving cream over the soft shaving soap because I like to palm lather it and the metal tube looks and feels better than the plastic jar.
I'm partial to the cream. Don't get me wrong, I like soaps and all that jazz, but when I pull out Proraso it's because I want a 100% no fuss shave and squeezing out a little bit of cream from a tube contributes to that convenience.

Good Choice, I like the cream in the tube better as it seems to lather just looking at it.
I agree. The cream is amazingly quick to face lather and provides excellent protection in very little time.
I like the cream as it is a bit more portable since I travel quite a bit.
I find the tube waaaaaaaay easier to face lather than the green tub croap.
