It is excellent not only as an after shave splash but a whole body splash. Makes bath water come alive, doubles as a hair tonic...

I thought it was SWMBO paying up a lost bet to him.

I confess I had to google this one. Apparently, the meaning of Gamble's quote isn't quite clear.
I think it's a good match ... as many, if not all of Tony's avatars remain a mystery, to me at least.

If anyone has a better understanding feel free to share.
