Shops around Dallas?

Good Morning all!

Next month my Fiancee and I will be traveling to Dallas for a procedure. I will have a bit of free time, are there any must see shops in the area? Who knows, maybe I will find some "souvenirs" to bring home... :)

I live in Dallas.

Because of your post, I walked into a membership-based barber that I've never bothered to look at before. It is called The Gents place (http://www.thegentsplace.com). There is one at the intersection of Preston & Royal (South East corner). It turns out that they carry Parker brushes and safety razors, Trufitt & Hill shaving products and some other brands. I don't think they have all the products shown in their online store. The prices are high (e.g., Parker 22R for $40 vs West Coast Shaving @ $28).

From the above list, Doughertys is an old school pharmacy, but its wet shaving section is limited to about 5 items, each of which you can mail order for less. If you happen to visit The Gents Place, Dougherty's is on the North West corner of the same intersection.

As far as Central Market is concerned, the Lovers/Greenville location is the largest one near downtown and is the most likely to have the items shown on the list. The one at Preston/Royal is tiny and doesn't carry much of anything, which is too bad, since it is at the same intersection as Dougherty's and The Gents Place.

I don't shop at the Art of Shaving stores, but there are two in town. One at NorthPark Mall (the high end mall ... If you are a modern art and sculpture fan, it is a must see. Ignore the stores and focus on the art. You will be shocked at the collection.). The other store is at The Galleria.

I wish this place had a showroom.... http://www.bestclippers.com
