Comb cleaning advice needed

My combs are pretty gunked up, what is the best way to clean them?

An old toothbrush, some detergent and some hot water should do the job.

I soak them in an ammonia solution. Scrub off with a nail brush and cold water rinse.

Nail brush works great for the job. Dish soap, hot water and a quick scrub with the brush and good as new.

I "strop" my comb on my jeans periodically before and after I comb my hair, while it's still wet. Just a quick wipe to keep the gunk from building up in the first place.

My barber told me to soak my combs/hair brushes in dish soap then scrub them with a toothbrush.
