The Nivea balm is fantastic stuff, you'll be glad you picked it up when those Merkur blades shred your face. At least they did for me, YMMV.

Ha. I haven't had the ultra negative experience with the merkur blades, but I will second the Nivea accolades

Thanks for the heads up, I'll take it nice and slow! If the Merkurs are that bad, I hope the Feathers I have coming are not going to be too sharp?? So far I've only used the Crystals that Lee recommended for me...

Merkur makes a good razor, but their blades were not my cup of tea.

Nice to know, thanks. I'm disappointed in what their stock "shavewise" in their stores here. Plus both Dickinson's WH is at full retail price but IIRC they do have some Nivea. BTW I also noticed they sell a Brut cologne that looks like the one from days gone by. It was the medallion hanging on what appears to be a glass bottle. But it's $10 so I passed on it.

I agree. My Merkur razor is good but the blades are a disappointment. And at $0.55 a blade, they should be ROCKING

Yes, the shipping is very fast too. And if you catch the sales, you can do even better. For example my Nivea was buy one get one half off. I think the blades are competitively priced, as well as the Pacific Shaving Company products.
