RIP, Tommy Ramone

The last original member of The Ramones, dead at 62.
Originally the manager, Thomas Erdelyi, became the drummer (and getting the coveted "Ramone" surname) when Joey couldn't keep the beat and sing at the same time. Tommy also produced the first few albums.
I saw them very early in the 80's with Marky on drums. They played about 25 songs in something like 45 minutes...not a speck of filler. The best way to describe The Ramones? Beach Boys on speed.

Pretty Pink Fairy Princess.
Sad to hear. The Ramones bucked tradition; most other bands' drummers died early, the Ramones had both drummers as the only survivors

RIP Tommy. The Ramones never really got the respect they deserved. They influenced so many others.

Never even thought of that. I thought Tommy would live much much longer, because as Dee Dee said he was the "normal" one.

Starting to feel old. Seems only a few years back we were saying goodbye to Joey and now they are all gone.
