WTB: Gillette New - Silver Coloured - Thick Handled

I'm looking to bug a silver coloured thick handled Gillette New. I would like one in good condition. Doesn't need to be mint. But should be usable and nice to look at :).

Cyclic, The silver NEW's are pretty far and few in between. Good luck - you could be bumping for a bit

One thing to consider is to keep an eye out for folks that offer a lot of razors in Buy/Sell/Trade. It is possible these folks regularly peruse antique stores and you could send them a PM to request they keep an eye out for you.

Also, do you have any pics you could reference just to make sure people are all on the same page as far as what razor you are interested in. You could check out the B&B wiki, or shaveworld.org.

P.S. I love the NEW's as well but I am not a fan of the gold finish as it does appear to be more fragile than the silver.

Yes, it does seem that I'll be doing these bumps for quite a while. And each time I see a gold ones I feel teased! :) But I must stick it out.

I'm the owner. It's a silver plated Bostonian. I find that it shaves very much like the New.

The razor pictured below is generically known as the New/Improved which is indeed different from the New. I'm not sure how much they are functionally different in respect to shaves though.

I think they are a good bit more aggressive then the New. Are you looking for the English New? There's been a few for sale here lately, i got one of them and it's very nice.

Yes, Big difference in shaving performance between the NEW and the New Improved.

I've got a nicely tarnished New Standard, which is nice, but I'd like to play around with the New too.

Definitely a good thin NEW and again pretty rare. This one is little beat up but offered at a great price (as is all of Country Joe' stuff) given the rarity of thhis specific model. I just clicked through and it was already sold. Who knows, maybe even to someone following this tread. To the buyer - fess up!

I really want a thick handled one, but I figured in the meanwhile, I should try the slim handled one.

no problem, ran in to it on my quest for a short thick handled silver norfolk (what you were looking for but with the short handle) If anyone happens to have one of these, I have a case that needs a resident.
