Default How's the lettering on your brush handle?

I ask this because I just bought a new Shavemac that's coming in the mail. I have a Vulfix #1001 cheapo from Lee's Razors, and after a month of use, ALL of the gold stenciling/lettering has come off the brush, leaving me with a nice black handled brush.

Is this normal? I tend to think no, since I always see nice photos of guy's brushes with all the lettering intact.

Is this a cheap brush thing? I use pretty hot water out of the tap, perhaps it's too hot? Maybe I just got a defective model? I don't mind that my $24 brush doesn't say Lee's on it anymore, but a $125 Shavemac will hopefully say it's a Shavemac for some time to come, certainly longer than a month?

I prefer Simpson Traditional Lamp Black. It fades away bit by bit, but in a very distinquished way.

I'd try rubbing some more lampblack into it.

I take clear nail polish and apply it over the label and printing on my Simpsons. This keeps them from rubbing off. I have never had any issues with the decals on Plissons or Rooneys. No experience with Shavemac but the clear polish might help.

+1 But take care while applying the clear nail polish. Just try and coat it in one fluid swipe and do not go over it repeatedly. If you must apply a second coat then wait for the first one to dry.

My Shavemac 501 lettering is completely fine after about 8 months. Although it has lost a number of hairs...
