boars for brushes...

Well, we have the discussion in the "badgers for brushes" thread. Now I ask myself where do the boar´s hair for the other brushes comes from? It is an byproduct of hunting wild boars, right? Where do they come from? Can we assume that the killing of the animal is done without inflicting unnecessary pain?
I use a boar-brush since I could not afford a badger brush when I bougth it. Still, after reading the thread about the badgers I don´t want to get a badger brush.
Maybe it is time to go synthetic...

I thought this briefly, then decided that for the most part its probably humane (its easier to skin a dead animal than a live one, after all) and that if the meat of the badger is being used, then lets use the hair too.

to apply this to boars - heck, I just had a delicious bacon roll. Im sure people eat boar and so therefore why not shave the hides.

All this said though, there are some pretty good synthetic brushes out there im told.

The wife's investment
I doubt it comes from wild boars that are hunted. That would make them expensive.
