I always had a weak spot for this pen out of the dozen or so 51 Vacumatics and Aerometrics. Any other Flighter fans out there? .

Brushed steel bodies for starters and only made for a few years in the 1950s.
Generally, they cost two or three times more than a regular P51!
Brian, what is your opinion of this pens? With the metal body, is the center of gravity thrown off? What I like about my 51 is that with the cap posted it balances in such a way as it feels as if the nib is almost floating on the paper.
The extra weight of the metal body is not noticeable. Balanced beautifully ....

Since I work in aviation training, I must acquire a Flighter.
One of my favorites. Mine came up in rotation today. The 45 Flighter is a good pen as well, but the 51 is a classic. Even it's case is different.
