What's new

I think I may have found the perfect wallet for me.

Just received my Mitchell Money Clip a few days ago...(Roasted Maple..Horween Dublin) Only carry about 5/6 cards and cash...

What are your first impressions? I am thinking about pulling the trigger on the Horween Dublin Chestnut one. But I am concerned that it may be too thick even only carrying 5 cards and cash. Which material, CXL vs. Dublin will carry and wear the thinnest?

I currently carry 5 cards to include hunting license and medical cards (paper)......have room for more but will probably wait...
Wallet is really nice....it is slim and fits pocket really well...... $Mitchell Roasted # 1.jpg

Lookd good! How about a side profile shot, so we can see the thickness? What is the approx. thickness the way you have the wallet loaded up? The logo stamp is quite excessive in my opinion. I would go with the smaller logo or perhaps no logo.

I really want to try one of these, but I carry too much cash most of the time.
I'm pretty much stuck with a traditional bifold or trifold.

I think I may have finally found the perfect wallet for me. I was in Nordstrom yesterday and stumbled upon this Bosca Weekend Wallet...

Same wallet on Bosca's website...

The Nordstrom reviewer hit the nail on the head on all acounts. This is nice and slim with 4-5 cards and a small amount of cash. I especially like the single gusset currency opening. Nordstrom does pricing matching and they honored Bosca's 10% off first order promo.

Where do you guys keep your change with all these wallets? In the EU I always seem to overflow with coins.

I just put coins in my pocket and transfer them to a jar when I get home. In other words, I don't normally carry coins, and often I will use a credit card to pay even for things that cost < $2 just to avoid having to carry change.

If I lived in a country where coins are important, I would either get a wallet with a coin section (something like the taxi cab wallet, see http://aliciaklein.com/collections/all-leather-taxi-wallets or http://www.bigskinny.net/taxicat.html) or get a separate coin purse (more likely).

In the EU, do you tend to have a ton of cards?

When I was a kid (< 8 years old) and didn't have any real money, I used to buy a really cool money-clip wallet (I bought several because I would keep losing them, my mom was easy on me). It was made of faux leather and it had a coin pocket that opened on one side and a leather clip to hold money. In those days there were no cards or credit cards, and even the driver's license was a small booklet, not something that could be carried in a wallet. How times change...

Now with Apple Pay, I can easily see the day when wallets, like watches, become a thing of the past. You can have all your cards (including the driver's license) in the phone; anyone that needs to read/validate it can do so via NFC. The technology is all there; it's just a matter of infrastructure catching up.
