Today has (so far) been a wonderful day. This shave was no exception. Went for a run before shaving, which always seems to make mowing down whiskers just a little bit easier for some reason.
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet cream/Muhle Synthetic brush/Merkur Futur w/ Gillette Silver Blue blade/Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel/Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet cologne
Some thoughts:
This was the first time I've used the Blenheim Bouquet cream. I like to use more product than I think is necessary on a first go and this time was no exception. It seems like a thirsty cream, but the lather is absolutely top notch. On the other hand, I was slightly disappointed in the scent. It's not nearly as 'pure' a scent as the edt, which I absolutely love.
The Futur is the razor which I've owned the longest, since sometime in 2010. For a long while, it was my only razor. I bought another about six months ago and haven't used the Futur since, as I was trying out other hardware. I decided to go back to it today on a whim and remembered some things about the razor that I had forgotten. It is extremely efficient and the blade really chatters quite a bit. Gave a suburb shave, though.

This shave was absolute perfection! I had mentioned on here yesterday how all the great pics made me really wish I had shaved. Well this morning I was very excited to shave. Face lathered some Valobra with my Bluebeard's brush and it was glorious. The EJ with a Perma-Sharp breezed through my whiskers like a hot knife through butter. 3 Passes WTG XTG and ATG with no touch-ups. The result a 100% BBS shave that was one of, if not, the most comfortable shave I have ever had. Valobra just keeps getting high and higher on my list.....Only Tabac sits higher.....but barely and I dont think for long.

honestly, i would not have normally paired the SMN canned foam with a straight, but only for this new/old theme.
it's a nice foam, but thick and buttery, which works best for a cart or de.
anyway, thx for keeping the pot here stirred!
