Brown Leaf Newbie Check-In & General Chat

Today was looking like a great day to smoke and fish...but the wind whipped up to 15-25 plus. Fishing was terrible, and a smoke was right out.
Yes, that darn wind! Was it too windy to use a wind cap? I have a pipe that has one built into it as well as a few that I picked up pretty cheap to use with a cob while fishing.

I'm thinking it was. 25 mph and the river was acting as a tunnel. I don't think I could've even gotten a light.

I'm not familiar with wind caps.

Interesting. Looks like it would be difficult to attach to any pipe whose size and shape doesn't match it perfectly.

I'm full of my lunch and feel like smoking a pipe today but the weather is a little too cold and rainy for me to want to go outside. I could smoke in my car with the windows cracked, but that's not necessarily as fun...

I'm not sure about the exact one you are showing from P&C but, the one's that I have adjust to fit most any pipe.
See the two flanges in this picture? They should push in, mine do anyway.
Truthfully it's rare that I use them but they work in a pinch since I smoke outside full time.

That's the way all of mine work also. The flanges are attached to a spring inside. That picture makes it difficult to see how they work.

I bought a pack of them off of some Chinaman (but that's not the issue here, Dude).

For the most part they'll fit standard pipes. Usually indie pipes are a little tough like my Tinsky's and especially freehand pipes because the rim isn't flat for the most part.

They have this style and one with less holes. This style is better at fitting larger pipes, FWIW

Fridays are Fishtastic!
Here is random for you- do you think it weird that I was practicing my "using a pipe to stress a point in a conversation" technique?

I gotta say I only had a couple friends before I joined here, now I feel I have a bunch! Thanks to all you guys always being here.
