main tobaccos are Gawith Hoggarth & Co.
Ennerdale, and no.7 Broken Flake to
name a couple. Have many blends under
my belt, and I'm partial to VA's.

oh, and I turn my own tampers as well.
here are some in my personal collection:

Hey Sploosh!

Welcome to the BL! Great to have such a veteran pipe smoker. I have a Falcon but have yet to smoke it! Great collection you have there. And the tampers are beautiful! I really like that center one.

Looking forward to having some conversations with you.

Welcome! I have a falcon and love it. Have never seen twist stems before. A bit special. :) Am super keen to get my hands on a meer bowl, have had my eye open for some time in the antique stores etc. Glad to have you here. Rob

Been around B&B for just a little while and lurking the Brown Leaf. As a background, I smoked a pipe, of the legal variety, and cigars sparingly for a few years while in college. It was a simple no name briar, unfiltered. I always enjoyed both, but to others the pipe was a better option as it didn't drowned them out in sometimes offensive smells.

While in school, NCSU, I had the great pleasure of being around a local tobacconist, George of Pipes by George, in Raleigh, NC. George was great with pipe tobacco and I used my trips home to stock up on cigars from JR Cigars. I mainly smoked aro's as those were pleasant to the nose and the girlfriend/fiance (as she was at the time, now married 3 years) was fond of the smell. After graduating a few years ago I didn't smoke too much and let the humidor go dry. I still have the occasional cigar but really want to get back to a pipe and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

I will be getting a MM cob as I find it more economical to my needs (read desires). I am a man of simple tastes and the cob provides just that. No offense to those who love their briars and meerschaums, its just not worth it to me based on the volume, or lack thereof, I would smoke.

I will soon be getting my MM cob (probably the MM Washington Bent) with a couple aros and a mild english. The aros to please SWMBO and the english to add some variety that I havent had the pleasure of trying yet.

Its a pleasure to be a part of the Brown Leaf and finally add the badge. I'm looking forward to browsing some more and checking out the stock exchange. Have a good day.

I came over for the shaving board but happy to see cigars and coffee as i engage in those as well. Left nh in january and moved to florida, so far so good.

ever have that feeling when your like "finally get to smoke a bowl" since i am the last man in the office, i was about to pack a bowl, went digging in my bag....and bam thats when it hits me...I took out my pipe bag last night to swap out pipes at home for others that i carry with me (i tend to smoke the pipes i carry around with me a lot more often then those at home) and i realized i left them sitting on my desk at home. What a horrible disappointment and my joyous bubble busted. :o10::o10::o10::o10::o10::o10:

hope you guys are having a good smoke for me since I can't now.

Please pull up a seat, light a stick and enjoy your time with us. BTW, we love pictures :)

When they arrive be sure to post pics in the tobacquisitions thread. We LOVE pictures here. In fact, if there's no picture it never happened. :)

Hello friends! I'm new to this part of the boards. I am getting my starter set up delivered tomorrow and excited to start on yet another new hobby (read enjoyable money sink).
