Problem with RayBan aviators

Hi

I purchased RB3025 088 3F 58 aviators from an online store. The left leg, stick or whatever you might wanna call it is not closing like the right one and is very tight when we open or close it. Is this some defect? The online store is saying that it is normal. Please have a look at these photos-

Should I ask for the exchange or refund from the online store?

Regards

Likely the screw is a little too tight on that arm, if you have a small flat head screw driver try loosening it just a tiny bit. They are peened over, so it will take a bit of force and so long as you don't remove it all the way they won't fall out afterwards. A pair of mine was like this when I first got them too.

If you can, get an exchange. You can take them to an optical store, have them look at it. They might be able to help.

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately no RB store in my town and if I take to an optical store they will charge so came for help here.

Thanks for replying. Well I thought the same too, but I am scared as I may damage it and then I won't be able to exchange it or get the refund.

It won't take long for it to loosen on its own. Is this your first pair of sunglasses?

Thanks for replying. Yes this is my first pair of sunglasses. It has loosened just a little. But still cant close it like this

Will it become loose enough to close like the above photo in time? Or should I go for the refund or exchange?

Just be careful, use an appropriately sized screw driver, and remember 'righty tighty -- lefty loosey' and there is no way you can damage them. I'm surprised an optical store would charge you for such a little adjustment!

I seriously doubt an optical store would charge you for that adjustment. I would drop by a Sunglass hut or similar store and ask them.

They should be more than willing to do it since both companies have the same parent company, Luxotica. Just tell them you bought them at another Sunglass Hut.

Thanks for replying. Well unfortunately they are charging. Today after all these days I got a reply from RB office in my country. They said to apply a mustard oil on the screw and so that it loosens up. Is that the right advice? And will it fade the colour?
