$4! Nice Sun Tiger combo 1000/6000 with good meat on both sides. Just needs to be lapped. I never ever find serviceable hones in the wild so this is super cool to me.

Yep, the directions are easily as cool as the stone.

Put it to work and took a small chip out of a blade. Very nice, and felt very predictable/gradual during use. No weirdness.. It lapped dead flat and chamfered with one piece of 3m 220 w/d which doesn't speak much for the hardness of the binders, but it does the job well.

Nothing like finding a great bargain on a useful tool. Congrats.

Edit: No, I know where I must have seen it. Your thread turned up in a search I did night before last, and I was marvelling at the dimensions, which seemed the perfect size for hand-holding, since synths are usually a bit larger. Seeing it again this morning, I thought I must have seen it on the 'Bay as I was surfing there as well night before last. A nice find, in any case.

It's turning out to be incredibly useful so far. 1k side cuts fairly quick, 6k side a bit slow, which I don't mind.
