Feather Portable; As Good as a Gillette Tech??

I have just purchased a Feather Portable. We have a review of one here:

I just received a gold ball Tech this week that is a decent shave. I was intrigued by the Feather and thought I would give it a try. The Feather Portable (or Traveler as the review calls it) seems to be a near clone to the Tech.

I will post the results here. Has anyone else tried either or both? Well - I know a bunch of you have used a Tech.

At any rate - I wanted a good travel razor and I think it will either be this or an old Super Speed, or both.

They are close to one another but the portable is a bit more aggressive.

I found the Portable on EBay for $8.99. There is a web site selling them for $12 or $13 - I will look and see if I can find the URL. I cannot seem to find it right now.

I consider the Feather Portable to be a Tech clone. The head and handles will even work with Tech parts. I bought one from PaulDog many moons ago. Once I used it a few times and realized it looked like a short handled Tech, I fell for Tech's in general. Mine is a little more agressive than a Tech. Once I found the correct angle, I don't see a lot of difference. Mine seemed to pair well with the ASR Platinum blades from Wal-Mart.

I received mine from Pauldog about a week ago and it's a nice little razor. I used a Derby blade, but I can only compare it to my Vision or my Merkur classic.
The handle is tiny, but I can't wait to bring it along on my next trip.
