    Default pedicure

My wife treated me to a trip to the local nail bar for a late valentines pedicure today. I have NEVER had such a thing and it was fun... my toes are quite happy....

My wife getting a pedicure is cool, but me, NEVER EVER would I do such a thing. I'm a man. I like my rough hands and everything else rough. Except scruff which I fight as much as possible. LOL! Pedicure, the day a woman makes me do such a thing, I'd have to be fully incapacitated to defend myself from that sort of thing Hahaha.

I've had many pedicures. It started due to a really bad ingrown toe nail. My GP, after making an attempt to resolve the ingrown toe nail with minor surgery, referred me to a podiatrist. The podiatrist did a great job fixing the problem and taught me how to properly care for my feet to prevent future problems.

After talking about it with the podiatrist, I decided to have my feet professionally tended. Therefore, I started going to my wife's manicurist. It's really quite enjoyable to have someone good (get references, because, in my experience, many walk-in manicure shops do shoddy work) clean up your hands and feet. As part of the process, gentlemen get hand/leg/foot massages, which, if you enjoy male-female contact, can be quite enjoyable and relaxing .

Admittedly, the first time I went there I felt very awkward since it was very out of the norm for me (though other guys go there as well, some even go weekly). Once I got past my own sensitivity to the matter, it was a very positive experience. Interestingly, many women openly admired my hands after I started having them manicured.

Tim, more power to you brother (or sister?) hehehe. Ok I'm just joking so take it lightly, Its hard to joke around using TXT only as means of conveying humor.

I don't mean to Hijack your thread here, but

My take on this is, a woman will admire you for having your hands and feet done, but a woman will admire you even MORE if you were greased up underneath a HEMI or making a bow and arrow or something that MEN do. Do you have any idea what women talk about? Growing up I was often around women a lot because my father would be away and my mother would take me everywhere, from shopping to see her friends, and she has all sisters. I would over hear a lot then, and I can overhear it now at work because my office gives the impression it's air tight but it's not. And guess what, they laugh at guys they saw getting pedicures and manicures. What I'm saying is, the femininity of a woman is what attracts me, and so I would find it cute if a woman came into a garage asking me to fix her car, than her walking into the garage and telling me what to do and how to do it. We've all met those women who supposedly 'get along with guys better' but it's all great, but they end up being passed around the team like a football or a soccer ball. The woman we usually prefer to end up with has feminine qualities. Ofcourse it's jackpot when the woman has those qualities plus a little of "I can fix it" attitude also.

However, if HE-MAN came into a pedicure shop, well, they would think differently, but it doesn't matter what they think, You'd have to be He-man, but in any case, it all depends on what you think. If it's great for you, more power to you.

I had a pedicure not too long ago, and thorougly enjoyed it. The best part was scrubbing the dead skin and the long soak. I'm cheap though, so I just bought a foot sander, a tub, and epsom salt, and do it myself on a weekly basis now. It's not as nice as having someone else do it, but you save money and get a very comparable result...

I get a pedicure every two months. From my podiatrist. As a diabetic, foot care is extremely important. Now...if I could find a gorgeous, stacked, really built podiatrist, who worked in her lingerie, this would be much more enjoyable!

I honestly don't give a damn if a woman would rather see me all greased up, I'd rather be well-groomed and clean. I'm not that insecure or that much of a tool, sorry. I guess some people are more comfortable with what they do with themselves, and don't let a woman judge what they do or how they act. I don't personally get pedicures or manicures, but I know alot of guys who do. No they're not "girly men", either. Besides that point, the only thing I do for my hands and feet are keep the nails well trimmed and well moisturized. I actually get a surprising number of comments from women that I have "nice hands" .

Guys -- nobody likes ugly looking or ill-kept hands OR feet. Sandal weather is just around the corner. There's nothing worse than seeing the heels of a person that are dried-up and cracking or their toenails long/jagged and untrimmed.

Personally, I don't have pedicures because I'm too busy, but I do take care of my feet. A 99 cents pumice stone, a hot soak, nail trim and a good foot cream can make you feel fantasic.

Just think what your feet do for you every day. They are the most neglected part of your body. Reward them -- and yourself by taking a few simple measures.

And if you're lucky to have the time to treat yourself to a professional pedicure, enjoy.

Nothing wrong with a good pedicure as long as it comes with a happy ending.

My wife goes for bi-weekly manicures & pedicures, and wants me to go for a pedicure.

No offense to anyone who does (all the more power to ya) but every time I hear of a man geting his feet done, I think of that scene from "Dumb 'n Dumber" where the girl takes the 7" disk grinder to Jim Carrey's toenails.

I've never had a pedicure and I won't just because of how the free manicure I got went (I do love bets like that, though). It's nothing against the person doing it, they did a fantastic job on my nails, but while they were holding my hand and filing the nail the rest of me was writhing around on the floor in what I can only describe as the physical sensation of fingernails on a chalkboard. That's not an experience I want to reproduce with my feet.

As for women wanting me to smell like motor oil... yeah right. I find they appreciate it more when I smell like I can actually be bothered to shower before gracing them with my presence.

I don't think I'll be getting a pedicure or manicure anytime soon either.I can take care of my own hands and feet thank you. Some things should be left to women and some things should be left to men .And if that make me a tool, too damn bad.I do understand about folks with diabetes getting their feet taken care of,it's a necessity.

In my job, people are constantly looking at my hands, so a manicure is important. A pedicure is just part of good foot care.
You can certainly do both yourself (and should), but the luxury of a professional manicure or pedicure is very much akin to a barber shop shave for pure luxury.
The fact that you are surrounded by gorgeous and frequently exotic (ie asian) women during the experience doesn't hurt either.

So, do you get the clear nail polish or go natural?

Manicure and pedicure once a month. comes with foot massage and parafin wrap for dry heels. No polish for me. I get them buffed--more natural. It's a great treat.
