Default Has anyone tried "Herban Cowboy" shave soaps or creams?

    okay,
So today I was in this alternative grocery store. They have a TON of "natural" grooming products.

So I went to the men's section and the only thing I could find related to shaving was called Herban Cowboy shaving soap and shaving cream.

They had soaps in 2 scents: original and dusk.

Creams were also available in the same scents.

Has anyone used these products before? The dusk scent was great, however I am apprehensive to just pick up a puck or tube without having ever heard about them...

I saw them at the natural food store but have never tried them. As much as I love trying new products I'm always a little apprehensive about trying health food store products because theyre are just so many companies making "herbal" pruducts for profit these days without caring about the final product.

There are a lot of things that are well-regarded on these forums that they probably sell there but aren't shelved with the "men's" stuff. Tom's of Maine and Kiss My Face creams especially are mentioned a lot around here and are almost certainly sticked at the store you visited. At my local co-op these and some other shave goodies are stocked near the lotions, while the men's sections contains stuff like the herban cowboy. Among the "natural" stuff, I really like Burt's Bees After Shave Balm (black tube), and the Weleda After Shave and Shave Lotion (the cream doesn't get great reviews, but everything I've tried of theirs has been great). I also love the aforementioned Tom's and KMF.

Thumbs down I tried the soap

The soaps smell fantastic...but that's about it They don't lather well, what does lather doesn't last, and it's not very slick. Someone on the buy/sell/trade forum has some of the creams for sale but if I remember correctly he stated they were "brushless" which kind of defeats the purpose in my mind.

I tried the cream it is not something you lather but rather a cream that you must basically paint on with your brush, it lubricates well enough and the scent isn't too bad, I just think there are lots better products on the market and since it is brushed on it gets used up rather quick so that makes it more expensive when compared to other creams which seem to last at least 2-3x longer and are better in every aspect.

I tried a bar of that shave soap, it had clay in it. Smelled like cookies, and it worked pretty well actually...not that the cookie smell has anything to do with that.
