Penhaligon's LP#9 - anywhere?

I got a sample of this and (yes) love it. I know Love Potion No. 9 is discontinued or not in production or suspended or what you want to call it.

However, is there anyplace online that still has some in stock for sale?

I've looked and haven't found anything; I use my small bottle very sparingly. Although it's not quite as nice, a bit drier and less fruity, Endymion is a good substitute. Have you tried it?

The closest I think you will come to a substitute is Trumper's Sandalwood, believe it or not. They are very close.

Last time I was there (about a month and a half ago), Chicago's Truefitt & Hill store had LP #9 in stock. Give them a call...they ship.

You've motivated me to do some "comparative" testing...because you're probably right.

I can be quoted in the past here saying that CK One, Floris Cefiro, and Penhaligon's Quercus are virtually identical, but after having worn them each several more times with a much more critical nose, I concede that they are very similar, but not identical.

I'm thinking I'll hold the same opinion of LP No. 9 and GFT Sandalwood after my "testing," but I'm sure the subtleties will be more apparenent if I wear them back to back...rather than 9+ months apart.

Of course all of this testing will be meaningless because it's all about individual perception.

I smell pepper notes in that which reminds me a lot of Opus 1870. Just my perception.

Penhaglions just recently shipped me a sample of LP no. 9. Wife likes it ... I'll put it in a small atomizer and wear it tomorrow.
