Default FS: 1918 Big Fellow & 1903-1904 Double Ring

First off, I've got a 1918 Gillette Big Fellow. This one is in excellent condition and I've taken lots of photos to fully show the condition. The box looks like it has had some repair work done to the piece of leather which holds the snap. The price on this one is hard to nail down and I was unable to find any past sales information on B&B. I'm asking $55 shipped CONUS for this one. SOLD

Secondly, I've got a 1903-1904 Gillette Double Ring. This one was also hard to pin down a sales price on since very few of them ever come up. This razor has Pat Apl For on the handle meaning it was manufactured prior to November of 1904 and has no discernible serial number on the inner part of the handle. This has the correct case for it with the ribbon that has "Gillette Sales Co. Chicago Ill." on it and the two blade containers labeled "Sharp" and "Dull". The latch on the box works but the box is missing close to half of it's outer leather which is common for something this old. Asking $150 shipped CONUS.

I will ship to Canada or Internationally but please understand that shipping may take longer due to customs and it will be more expensive than the normal 2-3 day USPS priority. Both razors have been polished and disinfected with Barbicide.

Will these razors take current production DE blades, or do they need the old style Gillette blades?

They will fit the modern blades. The 1903-1904 Double ring may need a shim if the blade angle with the thin modern blades is not working for you. I could most likely dremel you up a shim from a blade if you wanted.

I think the Big Fellow should be fine since it was designed with more modern blades in mind IIRC.

I may be putting the double ring on ebay shortly. Still undecided if I want to.

    Default 1918 Big Fellow

    Aaron,

The 1918 Big Fellow is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Needless to say I can't wait to shave with it. Although the pictures were wonderful, they really don't do the razor justice!

I am VERY PLEASED!!!!!!! to say the least.
