Default Leslie's Entry into the B&B Hall of Fame

Please allow me to introduce myself:

    Username:
    Leslie

    What is your real name?
    Leslie

    What are your nicknames/aliases?
    Les

    Where do you live?
    Portland, Oregon

What is your age (or) generation?
    24

What are you in the real world?
    Software development

What is your favorite shave setup?
    Pre-shave:
    Hair conditioner applied on face
    Burt's Bees Citrus Facial Scrub

    Shave:
    Merkur HD Classic
    Derby Extra blade
    Vulfix 2233 super badger brush
    Taylor's Rose
    Thayer's Witch Hazel

What are your hobbies and favorite activities?
I love music of all kinds, especially of the electronic variety (but not the mindless repetitive techno you might be imagining). I DJ in my spare time. I collect vinyl records of many genres. I enjoy craft beers (especially various Belgian styles). I enjoy watching quality films (mostly independent or classic films, rarely Hollywood blockbusters). I'm a complete Nintendo freak and I rarely go anywhere without my Nintendo DS. I also love to read and cook.

What else should the members of B&B know about you?
I'm tall (6 feet, 4 inches), and very slim. I have an extremely deep voice that I've been told doesn't fit my appearance at all. I tend to gravitate towards all things unusual or obscure, which is probably one of the reasons I was attracted to shaving with a DE razor and a shaving brush.

The other is that I went through years of shaving with a Mach 3 and canned cream, constantly suffering from bumps, irritated skin, and a thick mustache (inherited from my father) that just wouldn't stay away! The classic shaving method has solved all my shaving problems.

Who are you into? Compared to you, I'm an old fart (39), but I still like Aphex Twin, Four Tet, Fennesz, Ellen Allien, and a few others. Welcome to the forum!

Much of the same, actually! I'm really into Aphex Twin and Four Tet. But my favorite electronic artists are James Stinson (R.I.P.) and Gerald Donald, who have produced music under many names, such as Drexciya, Dopplereffekt, Arpanet, Der Zyklus, etc.

My other favorites are Hans-Peter Lindstrøm, Maurice Fulton, The Avalanches, Chateau Flight, Fila Brazillia, Luke Eargoggle, I-F, Alden Tyrell, Squarepusher, Autechre, Plaid... I guess I'll cut it off there... I always go on for too long.

I like of Squarepusher, Autechre, Plaid and Arpanet, but I'll need to check into the other artists (and aliases) -- thanks for the tips! The electronic scene has so many subgenres and subsubgenres, it's hard to keep it all straight. I am really enjoying AFX/AT's Chosen Lords, which is my most recent purchase. Again, welcome!

    Default Welcome to B&B!

    Well Leslie,
Fine kettle of fish you find yourself in now! At least you can be on the cutting edge of wet shaving wit here. Have fun and enjoy!
    Best regards,
