    Default New Gillette Razor

I found a new Gillete DE razor at ebarbershop.com and was wondering is anyone knew anything about it?

    First off - Welcome aboard!

Now - When you say razor, do you mean razor blades? Or are you talking about the new "Gillette style" razors they are selling?

I was out there a couple days ago, I saw Gillette "style", "similiar" to Gillette, and "like" the orginal Gillette razors. But DE razors, they had a Merkur, and some clones. The only Gillettes I saw were Trac II's and Mach 3's

15th from the bottom, and its a "gillette style" razor, actually its a parker, a 90R by my guess, i thought that case seemed familiar, its the same vinyl casing my 96R came in with the exception that its black insted of brown,

Probably referring to the third item down on this page: http://www.thegentsshop.com/store/RAZORSBLADES.html

Pretty sure it's one of the variants of Parker razors.
I do believe P&G would hit them with a cease and desist if they saw it, definitely not a Gillette.

Yep, that is the one I meant. So it's a Parker? They should be a clearer on their description item. Thanks guys!

BTW, I found this site now that I finally decided to use a DE safety razor like my father uses. He used to have about 10 dating back to the 50's. Now he only has one left and we are both looking for a good quality razor.

From What I been reading, the Weshi is a good quality razor for the dollar and the Merkur HD Classic is the best choice between the two. However, I prefer the "butter fly" style. I have also been told to look for a 40's Gillette Super Speed which would be the best. Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Sounds like you've been given good advice thus far.
For a new butterfly-style razor your choices are basically between a Weishi, Parker, Feather Popular, and a new one by Ming Shi. The Weishi or the Feather would probably be my picks in that category. A 40's Superspeed is probably ideal, they're relatively common and inexpensive even though they can't be bought new.
