Glock Talk

Is anyone here a member of this forum? I was wondering why it takes so long to be able to post. I joined on the 18th and still am not able to post. Is this the best Glock or gun forum in your honest opinion?

Thanks Glen

Meh..... too many wacko's. I've been a member there for 4-5 years, but go there maybe 1-2X a year.

I find that the specialist gunboards like ar15.com or glocktalk are full of posters that I don't have a lot in common with. I post over at thefiringline and sporterizing.com as they usually have posters who are like me, collect a lot of different types of guns but not fixated on any one brand too much.

I really like 1911forum, but that's probably because I'm partial to 1911s. They seem to have a good balance of other gun discussions, and they don't seem to be as hard-core wacko as some of the others.

I used to post at the 1911 forum, but don't anymore- nice to know it's still there and civilized. Most moderated bulleting boards are.

I was a member of that forum many moons ago when I was still living in a country that allowed me to compete in IPSC, and had a Glock 22 (.40S&W). And I agree with both Jimro's and joel's sentiments about not having things in common with most shooters and the kooks such boards attract.

But now I live in the UK there's not a chance in hell of having one, so now I make do with fullbore target rifle at Bisley. Oh well, it's not all bad.

I contribute to this forum, but as it is in Norwegian you might want to pass. How do you like your Glock (or Glocks)? What do you use them for? I have shot quite a bit with the Glock 17 (or as the military here designate it P-80). It is a good service pistol but not much of a competition gun. I have a BUL M5 for competitions in the "Service Pistol'" class:

I agree.

Me I am a USP guy my self. But I do enjoy my 1911's and still carry one on occasion.

Have had a variety of pistols for the last 30 years or so. Mainly used for personal protection and the fun of going out and shooting. The G30 is my first Glock and will not be the last. I had a really nice 1911 for about 20 years and it carries so much easier and it almost seems that it doesn't kick as much.
I wish the states would allow the .380 Glock. Not the best man stopper cartridge, but you would be able to carry it more of the time without it showing. Better to have something than nothing at all. I took a peek at your forum, yes you are right I can not understand a thing anybody is saying.

I don't post there, but a guy in the next cube at work is a part-time deputy sheriff and he does. He said it's the only place he can buy and sell glock-related stuff because eBay has a no firearms policy.
He bought a really SWEET competition pistol there.

I don't post there. As Joel said.....WAAAAYYY too many wackos...

I have a Glock27 as a backup gun for duty use.

My main sidearm is a SigSauer P226 in DAO:frown::frown:

Nothing against the Sig, but 9-10lb trigger pull is a bit much, but at least I didn't have to pay for it.

I'm partial to the H&K USP or a nice Wilson Combat, Les Baer, or Ed Brown 1911 style .45
