Default Anyone know what my grandfather has just given me

I was away seeing my Grandad this afternoon, he knows about my wet shaving escapades, and he said he had a present for me. Turns out it was his dads razor. If anyone can give me some info on it I would be most appreciative.

He also gave me his old brush, and I know I'm in the safety razors forum but what the hell I'll post a pic of that too

    Cheers,

Congratulations! That's some great family history there.

The razor looks to be an English Tech. These came with either an aluminum or heavier brass handles and some had date codes on the base plate consisting of a letter and number. The case is not original to the razor and looks to be older. Sorry I can't help with the brush, it looks to be in excellent condition though.

The Tech should shave very nicely and I find they make great travel razors.

I will shave with this tech in the morning. I have just boiled it to be on the safe side even though it looks perfectly clean. I have only used superspeeds and a futur so far and this will hopefully be a nice new experience

I have the same razor that came in an English made travel kit. It is a great shaver. Honestly, with a feather loaded in it, I get better shaves than with my SS or my Slim. Mine has the aluminium handle. Congratulations on your acquisition. Really cool your Grandfather got to actually give it to you.

I read that Humphrey Bogart commented on his death bed:

"I should never have switched from bourbon to martinis."

Apparently, he thought martinis were bad for his health.

Great piece, use it with pride and enjoy it. I have my father and grandfathers razors and for some odd reason they shave better than ever other one I own and that is many...
Take care of it and it will take care of you.
