150th Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address

Below is a draft of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, given to one of his personal secretaries, John Hay. It was written by Lincoln's hand, and bears his own edits. I thought this would be appropriate to share in the Nib.

I thought the Gettysburg Address was written on the back of an envelope on his train ride up there from Washington DC.
 
I finally just watched the movie "Lincoln" this weekend. Amazing how some of the back-story to the 13th Amendment came about.

I live about 20 miles from Gettysburg Battlefield, and try to visit whenever I can... there's a ton of hand written artifacts in the museum there, if you're ever in the area.
