Default Staying power of Mr. Taylor Cologne?

The AS seems to last 2 hours on me. But how's the cologne, any better? Please mention wether you use it as a splash or in an atomizer.

I use it as a splash and the scent lasts on me 6 to 8 hours. I typically use the A/S right after shaving and add a few dabs of the cologne before getting dressed. Love the scent!

I was in Taylor of Old Bond Street last Friday and picked up a bottle of Mr Taylor.

I've worn it a couple of times since and it has good staying power. It's hard to tell exactly how long (as you get used to the scent) but I would say it was still noticeable a good 5 hours after spraying.

As a side note, for the price, this is the VERY BEST cologne I own . . . by a country mile!

I really need to check out those Taylor's colognes. They seem like a good value. All the scented creams I've tried I've loved the scent of.

The cologne stays on me for a good 8 hours. I can usually smell it when I get home after work.

Thanks, John. How do you apply?

I would like to resurrect this post for some questions. I purchased this cologne a little over a week ago from Classic Shaving because I love the scent of the shave cream. I love the scent of the cologne as well, but it has absolutely no staying power on me. I don't know if it is just that I can't smell it, or if it is really no longer there. I don't have this problem with my Bigelow Bay Rum Cologne or SCS New Spice cologne, both of which I can smell up to 8 hours later. With Mr. Taylor, 1 hour later, even putting my nose right up to an area I applied the cologne, I detect nothing.

Does it make a difference if you splash it on or use an atomizer? My other colognes are all sprays, this is a splash. I am purchasing a small bottle to decant into and spray. Will that impact the longevity at all? I love the smell, but if I have to re-apply every 30 minutes, it seems like it is not as good a value as I originally thought. Does anybody know if all TOBS colognes have similar staying powers?

I've always heard you should moisturize before putting on cologne to get the smell to last longer.

Also can anyone describe the scent? I've heard good things about this cologne but my tastes in cologne run contrary to this site (I like a lot of department store colognes).

To me it smells like Cacharel Pour Homme.
