Default Weight comparison of Gillette razors

How do Gillette razors compare by weight? I'm thinking of comparing everything across the board (American, English, German etc). I've looked at the wiki, but many of the razors in the database don't have a weight field or it's not filled in. Maybe this is a call to update the database with as much information as we can get. I like heavy razors and I'm personally interested in the 40's SS razors, English 40's Rocket's and aristocrats, and Techs.

Try updating the wiki it rocks! I'll also be collecting as much information from this thread as I can to update the wiki.

Here's a link to a post that Mike (Antique Hoosier) posted awhile back:

It would be great to add a field for this in the reviews, if there isn't one. Because it will get complicated.

I have two Gillette Knacks: one from very early in the run (M-4), and one from toward the end of the run (S-4). Just between those two, there is a weight difference of 1/4 ounce (along with some minor manufacturing differences). Assuming, of course, that manufacturing changes over the production run of a razor will change and contribute to changes in weight.

So, it might be easier all around if it were an option in the reviews.

I have at least 10 english tech's that visually are identical but have different weights, i'm guessing they are cast different.

I'm just waiting for my set of digital scales to arrive and i'll document up the weights, years etc of my techs. :)

I was hoping it wasn't going to get that complicated, now we've got to worry about averages

Some of this info is in the wiki. Take a look around. We'll add more as the info comes in.

I have looked at the wiki and I think the safety razor database is awesome. I'm just trying to prime the pump a little
