The Word Accordion (4 or more)

In this word game, you use the letters of the preceding word to make a new word. You can make a longer word by adding letters to those from the word before, or you can make a shorter word by discarding letters (as long as your new word contains at least four letters).

If you expand the accordion, your new word must contain all the letters of the previous word. For example BEAR becomes BARRISTER. BEAR cannot become RABBI.

If you squeeze the accordion, your new word must consist entirely of letters from the previous word. For example, BARRISTER becomes ARBITER (or BEAR). BARRISTER (alas) cannot become RABBI.
