    Default Subday, sunday.....

What do you guys do on a Sunday?

For me it's family day. Pretty much every sunday we spend the day together. I cook in our house (The wife would burn a salad.....) so on Sundays I usually go for the full monty.

Full Engish Breakfast and proper Sunday Lunch with all the timmings (Today it was Roast Chicken, stuffing, roast potatoes and parsnips, vegetables, proper gravy folowed by Bread and Butter pudding). I also make a point of making a cake (Ably assisted by my two young daughters, who seem to enjoy the whole experience just to lick out the bowl!) and a couple of loaves of bread.

We normally go for a walk or play games in the afternoon.

I'm sitting down now with a Roast chicken sandwich and a slice of fruit cake. Kids went to bed an hour ago. Bliss.....................
I'm not talking to myself, I'm having a conversation with the voices in my head.

We usually finish up anything that needs done, maybe church, then its our day to be together and relax.

Apparently it's what's called a "blue law" that dates back to colonial times when you couldn't sell things, buy things, or play sports on Sunday. The sound you heard at the end of that sentence was millions of Superbowl fans yelling "Noooo!". Anyway, nowadays it's still considered a good idea to give everybody a day of rest and since all the liquor stores are closed they're not competing with each other for your business.

My Sunday usually involves cleaning the house and trying to precook some meals for during the week. This one, however, involves trying to keep anything I eat down. Fun times.

Edit: Forgot to mention, the reason for those laws was to maximize the number of people going to church. Nowadays they still exist because it's considered beneficial to the members of society.

Blue law is correct. It's a big thing in NJ with all its townships.

Sunday is for church and the family. After that, it's really just to relax.

I sleep in until Meet the Press, usually order a pizza or run out to snag White Casles for watching Nascar and/or NFL during most of the year. After that I call my folks, perhaps throw in some laundry, catch up on my reading or do something relaxing for the rest of the night.

So maybe they should still sell the alcohol to Jewish people like myself then...

Seriously, I went to the store to get stuff to make steaks and sautéed mushrooms. I use white wine to make the mushrooms and could not buy it.

Us agnostics shouldn't be excluded either. Sure, we'd only be allowed to buy booze every other Sunday, but you have to represent everyone.
