Safety Razor Acquisition Thread.

Received my $26 lot that included a G1 Fat Boy and an Ever Ready stropper. The blades that came with the lot were almost all rust covered. There's a few injector blades which might be ok (maybe a PIF to the SE guys). But I think the jewel here is the Fat Boy. I'll be cleaning it up tonight and giving it a nice polish. Pics to follow.

Nice catch on the TV Special! Rhodium plated I think which is why it's so nice and shiny. Enjoy!

great fatboy, but the scary one needs to be locked down. They come alive at night.

It's so hard to keep up with these great acquisitions - one thing is for sure, hunting in the wild is addicting! In a previous post, I shared what I had scored on a road trip from Colorado to Wisconsin. The return trip wasn't quite as productive, but we did all right...

Gillette Pocket Edition (with a mis-matched blade safe) on the left, ABC on the right. Cases are a bit gnarly:



Looks to be the case from a 1920(ish) Standard set, minus the top snap and the proper razor. Blade cases are in remarkably good condition, and not a bad deal for $7:


These next 2 pics are the same razor - the $5 Old Type Bulldog scored on the way out to Wisconsin, before and after Goddard's Silver Polish and Scrubbing Bubbles. It's cued up with a new blade for tomorrow's shave:

I picked this up at an estate sale today. I don't see a date code so it must be a late 40's Super Speed. I'll post pics after cleanup.

Other than the paint in the numbers on the slim.
Every razor cleaned up like brand new.
No plate loss on any of them.
