Silva VS Henderson coming up in a couple of days I can not wait to see this one it should be a great fight . I Hope Hendo will destroy Silva . But Once Silva gets in Silva's clench it will be over real fast . I just hope Silva does not end up breaking Hendos nose the way he did Franklin's . That was brutal !

What is every ones opinion on Brock Lesnars journey into the UFC ? Personally I think he will do really well once he settles in . Fighting in front of a crowd is not an issue with him since he has been on stage for so long in the WWE .He has a great wrestling background and I do not mean Pro wrestling . Although it would be funny as hell to see him do and F5 (or what ever the hell the called it) to some one in an MMA fight .

The UFC is getting some really good new talent and the sport will blow up and become even more popular thanks to Dana White and his management skills .
Love him or hate him he has done lots of good for the UFC . I have been a fan since day one . I have been to a few underground shows around NYC and have seen many fights . All the UFC needs to do now is get rid of Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg . Mostly Mike is the guy that needs to get the boot he brings nothing to the table and all he does is ask Joe the same dumb questions over and over .

    Example
Mike: Joe Hughes is in a bad position know isn't he ?

Joe :well GSP has a full mount and is dropping some bombs on Matt Hughes !
He needs to get out of this position or Big john will stop the fight !!

Mike : yeah he should get out of there fast .

It is always some thing stupid like that . If they kept Joe it would not be all bad he does know what he is talking about for the most part I just think he should go back to his worm and roach eating show .(more of a personal issue with Joe)
Mike needs to either stop asking all these idiotic questions or be replaced with some one a bit more knowledgeable .

I don't see Hendo stopping Silva. Anderson is good. Like Fedor, BJ Penn, GSP good. I just watch that guy in awe every time he steps into the ring/cage. I love Hendo, but I got to give the nod to Silva, especially when weight is taken into consideration. Anderson is a natural 185, Hendo belongs at 205 and has to cut too much weight in this class.

As for the commentating, yes, Golide is a complete moron and why he even has a job commentating is beyond me. I don't think he knows a kimora from a rear naked choke.

I actually really like Rogan. I used to despise him, but after watching a lot of his stand up, I've grown to like his crude, in your face type of comedy. And he is a huge fan of MMA and really brings that to his commentating I think. I say get rid of Mike and have Joe commentate and have guest fighters for each event. Rampage, Mir, Hendo, and a handful of other guys do a great job in the booth and have the experience to back up what they say. I'd love to see Bas come back to comentating but I don't see that happening in the UFC!

I know the difference. A rear naked choke is when you sneak up behind a guy and squeeze every last bit of breath out of him. A kimora is when you sneak up behind Russell Simmons and squeeze every last nickel out of him.

I haven't seen Silva fight that many times, so I can't pick in this case. However, I think Hendo was relatively small for 205 and if he's used to mixing it up - and holding his own - with guys who walk around at 220+ and then cut to 205 (Wandi and Rampage for example), I think any 185 pounder is going to have trouble with him. We'll see. It should be a good fight.

Damn Newbies always trying to highjack a thread .

Well if you check out Pride on FSNY they show a lot of the older fights and you may see some of Silvas fights

Here is a little highlight real of his

    Highlight real

If you do a quick search of his name for videos you will find a lot of this mans fights and you will see what a great fighter he really is .

He has incredible stand up but one of his main things is clench and knees to the face . usually when he lands a knee the fight is stopped shortly after .

I am really looking forward to this fight with hendo and I think it will be his (Silva's) hand raised at the end of the fight .

I'm really lookin forward to Silva/Hendo too. I'm betting on Silva.

Tough call, but heres my reasoning. Hendo loves to duck, throw a huge overhand right, and plow his way into the clinch. Thats how he closes the distance most of the time, he's a greco guy...he doesn't change elevation and shoot, he charges in, chinches and throws.

Silva is too mobile and too precise with his striking. Hendo will eat leather (and knees) trying to get in, and while he's got quite the chin, Silva is deceptively powerful.

I could see Hendo holding Silva down, but not doing damage on the ground. Silva's guard is extremely hard to pass, his legs are long enough that he can just lock up a body triangle from the bottom.

Look for his KO of Tony Fryklund, I guarantee you've never seen another KO like it

Fryklund is a super cool guy and fearless, he's taken some pretty bad beatings in his career. I chatted with him for a while after he fought Bang Ludwig in Strikeforce (Tony got socked up pretty bad, KO'd with a head kick if I recall correctly). He needed to get the webbing between to of his fingers stitched up because he didn't wrap his hands before the fight. Told me he doesn't like to wrap 'em, so sometimes he just doesn't

That is going to be his biggest downfall of this fight once he goes to throw one of those Overhand rights that he steps into like a wild man he will catch a knee to the face that will take him out .

The only way he might not eat that knee is if that right lands and he knocks out Silva .

This should be a very interesting fight and I can not wait to see it

Any one that is looking to post results of the fight when it ends please put the words spoiler in the tittle so I do know read it I will not watch the fights until Sunday and rather not have the results spoiled for me

I hate to say it but besides Hendo/Silva, that card is kinda weak. Kongo/Herring has potential, and Cummo/Fioravanti could be exciting (if it airs on the PPV). Every other fight on the card is pretty easy to call.

Koscheck Fitch and Sanchez are all getting easy fights. I'd love to see Koscheck vs Fitch but that won't happen (they're training partners).

And this is different from every other UFC PPV how? Oh how I long for the days of Pride...

Yeah, you have a point. There have been some notable exceptions...and its better than boxing...but I would LOVE to see some cards that rival old Pride cards. I think we'd have a better chance of getting them if M1/Dream had the UFC's roster to work with.

I'll take this opportunity to weigh in on the Dana White issue. In my opinion, Dana is pretty much solely responsible for the commercial success mma is enjoying at the moment. As a fighter (i've had one pro fight) and training partner/friend to fighters who do this full time and support their families by fighting, that is a godsend. The opportunities that exist for fighters today simply would not have been possible without Dana White.

As a businessman he is extremely savvy. He is building a business and a brand, first and foremost, and he is concerned about the sport second. Fans need to remember this when discussing Dana and his contributions to the sport...he is a businessman first.

My only problem with the man is his complete lack of willingness to co-promote, cross-promote, share fighters, or engage in any other practice which might lend credibility/market share to a competing organization. But think about what I just said...as a businessman, why would he?

I often wish the same thing most of my friends do not like to watch UFC events and it drives me crazy having to shell out so much money every month to watch the fights but what the heck we spend so much money on shaving why not spend some money on other things we enjoy as well

That's true. Also though, I figure with my luck, if I bought the $50 ppv, the main event I wanted to watch would be a quick k.o. or a boring fight. Last ufc I bought was...I think it was Silvia and Arvloski (sp?) and all they did was run around the octagon for 3 or 5 rounds.

That was one of the most boring fights for me as well . not because nobody got knocked out but only because all they did was run around in circles it was like the were playing ring around the Rosie or some thing .

plus I would be with the majority of UFC fans I hate Silvia

I was hoping for Arlowski to take care of him the way that Couture did .

It was a very disappointing fight

    Not many in NY

I do not know how it is in other states but in NY for a bar to order any PPV event they have to pay depending on the seating of the place not a set price of $50 bucks . then the bar charges you accordingly to get in so you can watch or they will make an event .

I am sure some place in NY shows it .but for the most part the places I have seen wants you to pay $20 as a cover charge plus a 2 drink minimum I rather just order it at home and pay the same amount of money and not be in a crowded bar
