Dark 'N' Stormy

Has to be Goslings. I believe the ginger beer in an original Dark and Stormy is Barritts. Gosling came on board with their own in 2009. Why not. They realized the exclusiveness of their rum in the mix and have tried to make it a one ,two punch. Didn't care for it myself. I'll have my D&S with Goslings and Barritts.

I've been making mine with Goslings Ginger Beer because they had a promotion going for a free 6 pack with the purchase of a bottle of Goslings rum. They have the Crabbies at my local store, so I am definately going to pick some up and give it a try. I've been adding a few drops of Bittercube Jamaica #2 bitters, which gives it a nice level of added spice.

1 part dark rum (traditionally Gosling's Black Seal) to 3 parts Ginger Beer (Ginger Ale is not a good substitute). I usually add the juice from half a squeezed lime.

Agreed I do the same the lime does really add to it.

I love a good Dark and Stormy. I like to make my own ginger beer because you can adjust the recipe to taste. I like to add more ginger juice for a more ginger kick. Recipe can be found here:
