Default Growing appreciation for "The Collection."

Funny thing happened today. On a whim I decided to wear Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet today. I normally don't wear it because my wife never really reacted positively to it...or to any other part of my rather large fragrance collection with Endymion being the exception that makes the rule.

Today she came home for her lunch break and I had the day off, so I had lunch prepared and ready so that we could maximize the time before she was off to work again. Mid bite, she leans over, sniffs, and says, "Mmmm...you smell really good." She's been saying this a lot lately and everytime it's a different cologne that in the past she has turned her nose up to, but now really enjoys. Yesterday it was Higher Energy by Christian Dior. Same response.

All I have to say is About Time! I've got hundreds tied up in The Collection and I'm stoked that she's finally gaining an appreciation for perfume. I think me getting her hooked on Malabah has had a lasting effect on her. Giddy-up!

I'd bet her scent tastes are changing right along with yours. I find myself appreciating some colognes that I used to turn my nose up to before. Luckily the girlfriend seems to love just about anything I use . She actually does not like Blenheim Bouquet, though.

Gotta love it when a plan comes together!!
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!
I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

it really does take some time to develop your nose. last night i revisited my sample of hamman and i have to admit i like it a lot more after appreciating other scents now for some time. the lady in your life will probably come to appreciate quite a few that she once didnt care for.

    good for you!

I have purposely tried keeping away from my wife for the 1st 30 minutes of drydown and the following has happened with at least 1 of my frags:

Knize Ten has turned from 'bug spray' to 'nice smokey smell'

Good point, I've had the same issue myself. I tend to go say goodbye to my wife right before I head out for work, which is usually right after I've applied cologne, and I often wish that she could smell it after it's dried down a little. By the time I get home from work it's mostly gone. Sometimes I will save certain scents for the weekend, when I can give it a little time before "presenting" it to her for her evaluation.
