I thought I should say hello, as I have been kind of reading over your shoulder and standing in the shadows. I was given a Burma-Shave mug, soap and brush set for Christmas and came across this site while looking for info.
Boy, do I have a lot to learn!
Or maybe I should say un-learn?

I want to thank all of you for the great welcome
and for the great advice!
After reading goosemeplease's tips on how to work up a lather and what kyle showed about holding a razor (sounds trivial I know but after studying myself in the mirror, I looked like I was going to drive a nail with the darn thing), I had the best shave I've ever had this morning. No nicks, no burn and very smooth.
I suggest all new members read and study the threads in the shave clinic. It sure helped me!
