Pierre Cardin... huge in the 70s.
My dad smelled - and still does, 30-odd years later - of Eau Sauvage. My grandad smelled of Yardley Gold (IIRC) and occasionally pipe tobacco.
Strippers and booze! Just kidding he is a printer so he always smelled like blanket wash and developer.
I recall something like grease, gas, dirt, and orange cleaner. I knw he had colognes, but I don't recall smelling them.
I recall AV and OS for sure. Cheap & pleasant and I still like & use both.
I love reading around here that Tabac or Arco or La Toja or MWF smells like "old man".
I don't know about you guys, but my old man didn't smell at all like any of that stuff! He smelled like Aqua Vela.

My old man uses Tabac everything so thats a stickler & I now pretty much use most of the tabac range myself, I do remember though he wore Hai Karate aftershave for years and from memory it was very similar to Aqua Velva & Old Spice.
