  1. Default Brush for beginner?

    Hey

What's a good badger brush that will last a while for a beginner?

I'm will to spend around $25-40 on one.

A lot of sites don't ship to Australia which is annoying, so if you know of any that ship world wide that would be great.

I'm sure about the shipping, but the Crabtree & Evelyn Best Badger Brush is considered thte best for a newbie. $35 US.

Someone really should make this topic a sticky. Or just start a thread at the top in caps saying "THIS IS THE FIRST BRUSH YOU SHOULD BUY" with a link to the BBB in there.

That is probably a good point, but some people want to throw a ton of cash at their first brush. My first was a Burma brush from Wal-mart. I still use it and enjoy it.

You also can't go wrong with the Tweezerman IMHO.

    Default Bbb

Another vote for the Crabtree and Evelyn Best Badger Brush, ivory handle. $35. That's what I started with, and still use.

I agree with the C&E Brush

I also agree with this but add the things that a starter set might include...brush, razor, blades, soaps, creams, etc. Or maybe setup a kit in the Badger & Blade Decant Club that would list everything and have a 1-stop shop for sale.

I like the kit idea, or at least a sticky. It would have been a help to me as I got involved in this pursuit.

Another vote for the C&E Cream Best Badger Brush as the optimal brush in this price range.

If you can spend another $25, I would say Rooney Style 1 or Style 3 small genuine silvertip, which will increase density and have softer tips.

But you can't go wrong with the C&E, and if this is the amount you can spend, go with that. Best of luck.
