If you exfoliate, you're supposed to do so prior to shaving. It will remove skin around the hairs (fighting ingrowns) help lift the hair from your face, etc.

I can't imagine exfoliating after a shave...it sounds harsh and scary.

I shower after I shave. On the days I shave I always use Nivea Facial Scrub after I shave. Never had any trouble. On the other days I use Nivea Facial wash
