Cerakote Fat boy

Hey every body, I have another fatboy project to share. This one is a G2

Another ebay snag in hopes of an awesome razor under the scum. Unfortunately not this time. Once I cleaned this one up, there were flea bites and bad pitting pretty much every where, as well as the safety bar on one side was mangled (not much hope in this area). So I stripped her down to bare brass and started sanding and lapping, with a little extra work I could have re-plated but It most likely wouldn't have looked that great so I figured I needed an evil twin:devil: and paint fixes every thing right? I squared up all the surfaces the best I could without removing mass amounts of material, plated specific areas, masked, shot it with graphite black, oven cured then painted the numbers white.

I know sacrilege but all in all Im happy with it, something different than the usual fatty.:biggrin1:

I think it looks pretty bad myself! I don't consider it sacrilege at all, you took a razor that probably would have been tossed had it not been listed on eBay and did something unique with it.

To every one, Thanks for the comments

I will have to put it in rotation and see how well it holds up. should be solid but hard to say if the coating will help or hinder shaving, or fall off, if so some pickling may be in order for future reference.

WOW seriously just wow. it looks awesome. what paint did you use in it? i wiould be very interested in trying that flat look on a couple i have laying around.

That is quite possibly the most beautiful fatboy that I have ever seen! Would love to know what paint you used, I have one coming from an eBay score that might be a candidate for something similar!

Cerakote H146Q Graphite black. If you attempt this at home please follow all the proper safety guidelines. also dont bake parts in an oven you prepare food in for the sake of the parts (cross contamination) as well as your health. If your a professional and know what your doing and are set up to do this type of coating please disregard my home use warning.
