  6. Thumbs down

I am closing this poll, and this thread. Women/ladies ARE welcome here on the forum. For us to allow a poll to go on in my opinion is terribly poor form, in that a group of 2500 people - there are BOUND to be some users who will vote they are not welcome, which I feel isn't correct, gentlemanly or reasonable. I know if I were a woman, I'd hate to see even one person vote I wasn't welcomed/appreciated. Women are welcome here, simple as that.... there is no reason to hurt anyones feelings, and have someone respond with something otherwise, and cause problems.

ANYONE is welcome here provided they adhere to the guidelines set forth by the mod team, simple as that.

    Default Ladies' subforum

Given the slow but steady conversion of B&B wives/girlfriends/etc to DE wetshaving, it would be helpful to have a subforum for the ladies. There are many threads with such content but a subforum would keep things together and make it easier to search.

My wife said that was a very unenlightened answer. I, however, chuckled.

She doesn't even watch daytime TV, anyway.

I'd suggest a lady moderator for that particular sub forum.

Default Women (SWMBO) on the B&B

Since I've started stalking B&B and eventually registering, I have sat on the site refreshing it multiple times per day waiting for the newest posts to come up to read. The more I read, the more the obsession grows, and the more involved I find myself. Luckily for me, my SWMBO supports my crave for the perfect shave (TM). Considering her interest, and the fact that she's sat with me while shaving to attempt to indulge in the experience with me, I offered her to try it, obviously not on her face but the more female type regions, ie Legs.

Here on the B&B we obviously don't have a female forum, and I was unable to offer her much help beyond the usual face related information about prepping, shaving, etc, and she had nobody to compare experiences with, or threads to read for that little tip that pushes her over the top. So, I'm reaching out to all you fellas, I'm just curious if you had similar experiences:

    1) Are your ladies into the experience of proper shaving?
    2) Would they venture out to the B&B if there was a forum for them?

I do apologize if this has been covered in the past, or maybe I'm posting in the wrong section, but since the insomnia has got me up with 6 hours counting down till I'm supposed to wake up, I figured I'd post a little bit of what's on my mind.

    Dan.

Excellent idea. I'm sure women would be more apt to try it if there was a forum just for them.

You bring up an interesting point, ( which has been brought up maybe a short handful of times in the last three years I have been involved with the community) and I do not believe that Badger & Blade, primarily a forum dedicated to Gentlemen and their interest in traditional wet shaving, grooming, luxury items, "speakeasy" , "barber shop", coffees & teas etc excludes women.

I wonder where on the internet there is a female dominated forum that shares the spirit, comradery, education, humor etc that would be similar. The facts are women; from what I have learned over my 48 years, are wired a bit different from men... ( disclaimer...I'm divorced but was married for 21 years). I'm not sure B&B is a better place because it is I'm guessing 99.9% Male dominated membership, but it is just the fact that the way the forum was developed and has grown was aimed toward a place for Gentlemen.

I say keep B&B the way it is and ALL are welcome to participate, join, shave, experience all that is the community of Badger & Blade regardless of gender.... The facts are if women were drawn to our community.... they would already be here in higher numbers.

Check out http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/. See the "Ladies Corner" forum. It even has a "Ladies Only" sub-forum.

And that's a straight razor board. My bet is there are more ladies shaving with safety razors than with straights!
