This is the 1962 Gilette slim adjustable that I inherited from my grandfather and held onto for 10 years before I had any idea it was a usable implement. Afterwards, it was my first DE shaver, and remains in my rotation even though I'm primarily a straight razor shaver nowadays. I've tried it with a few cheapo blades before settling happily on merkur platinums. I get a slightly rougher shave with this than I do with my other DE, a Merkur 1904, but it is still always good, and can be better when I focus all my attention on the task at hand.
[SIZE="2"][COLOR="Navy"][SIZE="1"]If you teach a poor young man to shave himself, and keep his razor in order, you may contribute more to the happiness of his life than in giving him a thousand guineas. This sum may be soon spent, the regret only remaining of having foolishly consumed it; but in the other case, he escapes the frequent vexation of waiting for barbers, and of their sometimes dirty fingers, offensive breaths, and dull razors.
