What's new

What's your coffee today? What brew method? Photos

Had some Sumatran (got it free from World Market...not the best, but free is free!) brewed with my new Iwaki cold drip.

Madcap Kirura (Kenya, direct trade) roasted on 11/4 -- ground with a Baratza Encore 485 & brewed with a Kalita Wave 155. It has a super heavy body, distinct stone fruit notes, and a floral nose. It's amazing.

Trying a roaster from eBay today-- beans were roasted on the 4th and arrived yesterday, the 6th! Had the Brazil Sul de Minas, made with a v60. Very well roasted and made for a nice well-balanced cup.

Folger's Black Silk. It's pretty good stuff for the price, but it seems to have a very narrow "sweet spot" as far as the strength goes. Brewed properly, it has a nice chocolaty flavor. Too strong and it goes down hill fast.

A few years ago when I drank coffee I was drinking Nigerian AA beans with a Bialetti Mocha Pot. Damn was that some good coffee. Rich and potent.
