Wow, that's interesting, but I'll stick with the DE or the straight.
I was thinking that if the blades lasted for a month or longer, who is going to be the first to fashion an Obsidian blade for a DE?
Man, at the rate I've been going.. carts >> DE >> SE >> straight >> ..obsidian?? Seriously though, that dude is full-on grizzled. It'd be fun to try once.
I take it this will have the same problem as for example pure ceramic (zirconium) razor .. its pretty much glass like in behavior .. so when it will develop some misalignment on the edge - that you would strop out in a cut throat razor - here you can't as far as i know .. and those will BITE 
I have a ceramic knife at home .. and I like how sharp it is when something needs cutting hehe .. but is too fragile compared to steel .. it can snap/chip easily .. and the edge on it lasts way more then on a steel knife .. but even the smallest chipping on a blade will be disaster with contact on skin

hhhmmmm , i have a rock collection from my grandpa , i may have some of this ... im gonna have to look into it more , if i do ill try it !!! im gonna crab it , what i have just looks like a big hunk of glass ...lol..
