    Default SCS Colognes

I know there are reviews of some of the SCS colognes in the reviews section, but I was just curious if any members used them regularly and what they thought about them. I realize they may not be as "complex" as more expensive, designer fragrances, but I don't really get into colognes at that level anyway. I just like to smell nice. I am mainly wanting to know if these smell really synthetic or "cheap" and if they have any sort of staying power at all (which I know can vary from person to person, but I still would like an idea).

Bay Rum w/ a Twist has a huge following here (myself included) and you can't beat the price!

I was one of Sue's secret testers for the new "Impressions" line and I think they are all quality scents although not every one of them set my heart on fire. Tho, not having the originials on which these are based, I can't say how they compared scent-wise.

I also have the Bay Rum w/ a Twist, which is okay for me, but not my favorite. However, I love her New Spice. I received the soap and AS milk from a contest, and was so hooked I added a bottle of the cologne to my Christmas wish list. It is very long lasting on me (most aren't), and to my nose has a very linear fragrance (i.e. it smells pretty close to the same at the end of the day as it did when I put it on). If there is a fragrance she has that interests you, I would definitely recommend picking it up. The price can't be beat. I am just like you, in that I have a hard time spending upwards of $70 for a cologne. This stuff is right up my alley.

    Thumbs up

I also have the Bay Rum With A Twist, as well as Autumn Rain (I believe this has now been discontinued). The staying power is great on me, and the amount that you get for the price is amazing. I'm not sure that I know what "synthetic" or "cheap" smells like, but I'm confident that my SCS products smell like neither.

If you want staying power you must try the SCS EDTs. Sue does not skimp on the scents. I really like the Bay Rum with a Twist, Aspect, Dagger, Oakmoss Lavendula, and Savory Rose. I have a few of her other scents which I still like, but they don't click with me as much.

When I last used the Savory Rose EDT (two half sprays) I still smelled the scent the next morning after waking up.

Don't forget the Very V. If you like vetiver then you should give this a try.

I, too, love the B&B Bay Rum w/ a Twist cologne....wearing it today, as a matter of fact.

Wendy and I have a EDT sampler pack on our 'to do' list. Just waiting for final reviews of the second version of the Parma Violet EDT. (if baby arrives early he or she will take precedence )

    I have the following:

    Sandalwood
    Autumn Rain
    New Spice
    B&B Bay Rum w/ a Twist

And I love them all. The Sandalwood isn't much Sandalwood to me (too much Vanilla, compared to AOS, C&E, etc.) but I really don't use them enough. They're great stuff.

I have and like Bay Rum with a Twist. My wife is nuts for New Spice.

I'd really like to try her stuff some time or another. Though I'm afraid if I do, there'll be a whole 'nother addiction :(. SCSAD. That new Dagger edt sounds mighty tasty, too

    What's the Savory Rose like?

Big +1 on the New Spice. I always get compliments on that everytime I wear it.

You may get addicted, but this is one of the cheaper addictions. Seriously, the New Spice is now my go to cologne, and it is dirt cheap for a cologne. Nice bottle, too. I put some on this morning at 8:15. It is now 3 1/2 hours later, and I can still smell it distinctly. Very nice, too. I don't know what exactly it is in this scent that snagged me, maybe the hint of caramel she mentions in its description. If you order anything else from Sue, you can ask her to send a sample of a fragrance. When I ordered my New Spice cologne and Bay Rum shave cream, I asked her for a small sample of her Very V EDT to see if I liked it. She very graciously sent me not only a sample of the EDT, but also the shave cream. Great customer service to match great products.

Wow, thank you for all the responses. We should consider renaming this forum to "Acquisition Disorders Enablers" or something....lol. In the short time I've been here, I've already bought more brushes, razors, soaps, and creams than I need. Where does it end?

Every one of Sue's EDTs that I've tried seemed to be a quality product. I cannot recall any of them smelling "cheap", and most of them had good staying power. I do find that I use a bit more product with most of her scents than I typically do with higher priced products, but at the price point she has set, this is not a big deal.
