If this is what my shaves are going to be like this year, I'm excited 
Gave Proraso (the Bigelow rebranded version from Bed Bath and Beyond) a try and liked it. My razor didn't drag/stutter across my skin like it has with the Williams Soap I tried before, and it's not too much of a burden on my college student budget 
. Made a decent lather with my Burma Shave brush, and gave my face two passes with my Superspeed B3 with a drugstore Personna blade. Finished while my face was still damp with an alum stick and some Old Spice Classic.
Result was not quite BBS, but pretty close except on small patches of my neck. Since doing the "face mapping" thing that Mantic suggested in one of his videos, my shaves have become a lot smoother.
