Question on paddle strop and paste?

I was wondering if you guys could help me. I just recently purchased a used paddle strop. As near as I can tell it is very similar in design to this one:

The problem I have is the paste impregnated wood side seems to me like it could probably use some new paste. Can you apply new paste to these wooden pieces? If so, how do you do it?

I have the same strop. I use mine for traveling. The pasted strop side is chrome oxide. If it still works despite what it may look like I wouldn't mess with it. If its starting to fail you can wet (not soak) the strop and try repplying whats left on it by rubbing with your finger. If its really worn off you can get some chrome oxide and just reapply it. Use very little and spread it real good with your finger and wait until it dries. You should be able to get more from classic shaving or Tony Miller.
